The en dash is the em dash's little sibling.
Sadly, it's not as popular. Though it's somewhat of an outcast, we see it all the time and never realize it's different than the em dash.

Often, it's used to connect numbers. Maybe you've noticed it 2–3 times before.
You can replace the word to with it for directions, like if you're taking the Boston–Philadelphia bus.
The en dash is sneaky. It's usually on your resume. 2015–present.
Don't confuse the en dash with the hyphen. The hyphen is even shorter and easier to miss.
