Nouns

A noun is more than just a person (friend) or place (school) or thing (book).

It can be a process (sequence) or activity (studying) or condition (joy).

Terms to know:

Concrete nouns are solid and real and perceptible (chair, desk, room)

Abstract nouns cannot be perceived by the senses (feeling, sadness, pain).

Collective nouns involve a group or collection of people or things (team, committee, group).

Proper nouns refer to the name of a specific person, place or thing (Jon, the US, Skype).

Mass nouns are uncountable (water, evidence, luggage).
